Each year cadets who have completed their sophomore year have the potential to embark on an internship aboard a commercial vessel. Competition for berths on commercial vessels is rigorous and not all cadets will be selected to serve internships. Cadets are ranked by their GPR after mid-terms during their sophomore year. The number of commercial berths available varies from year to year. The best thing your cadet can do to improve their chances of securing a commercial berth is to study hard and post good grades. It is also important to avoid demerits!
