March-Ins at TAMU
What IS a march-in?
A march-in is a "pass in review" before the corps administration at TAMU main campus. Cadets from Texas A&M Maritime Academy travel to College Station twice a year to join the rest of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets as they march into Kyle Field prior to a football game. The companies form up on the quad with the rest of the corps and Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. They march to the stadium, enter Kyle Field, march around the track and past a reviewing stand and back out of the stadium. As a parent you should know that:
-
Cadets are responsible for their own transportation to and from College Station (most carpool). If they simply cannot find a ride, they should talk to the academy administration and they will help them get there.
-
Cadets are responsible for their own lodging if they choose to stay overnight in College Station
-
Participation in a march-in does not mean your cadet can attend the football game unless they have purchased a ticket or sports pass and pulled a ticket. The cadets march out of Kyle Field and regain entry with a ticket.
-
Cadets from Texas A&M Maritime Academy are not required to sit together during football games.
-
Cadets often forget small items such as white socks, belts, insignia and even shoes since they travel in civilian clothes. Gentle reminders from home to put all the uniform together before departure can help.
